Good Evening Divas! If you're anything like me, and you work 9 to 5, you most likely missed today's White House Town Hall Meeting. Today's Town Hall Meeting was much different, however, from previous meetings. How you ask? Today's Town Hall Meeting was held via Twitter! You heard me right! Today, President Barack Obama answered several questions that were asked on Twitter using the #AskObama hashtag. It was the first Town Hall Meeting held using this popular social media tool...and it was a success! President Obama
sent out the first tweet live from the White House to jump start the discussion. His tweet?
President Obama Sends Out The First Tweet |
"in order to reduce the deficit, what costs would you cut and what investments would you keep - bo"
Throughout the hour, President Obama answered several questions regarding a variety of issues, including the economy, education, and jobs. He even responded to a tweet from Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner. The entire meeting was interactive, informative, and fun! In a world where social media is becoming a way of life, kudos to President Obama and his staff for creating a venue where everyday citizens can feel included.
If you did not get a chance to see it, take a the video below (in the spirit of sharing, of course)! You can also get a transcript of the meeting here!-->White House Twitter Town Hall Transcript
