Old Makeup.......No Bueno!

I LOVE MAKEUP! In fact most, if not all, of the Professional Divas I know also love makeup. There is something about a new lipstick or a funky colored eye shadow that makes a woman feel good. It gives you an extra pep in your step and switch in your hips when you complete your “look” and step out for the world to see. It is not as if we need makeup to look or feel good; but every now and again we love the thrill of a made up face.

As Professional Divas, we recognize the importance of doing things right! Maintaining a fresh and clean makeup bag is no exception. Knowing the shelf life of those products in our make up bag is extremely important. Worst case scenario, old and expired makeup may have devastating effects on our skin and eyes (the worst offender by far is old mascara). In the spirit of maintaining our health and youth, we should all make a point of tossing out old makeup that may be damaging to our skin and eyes. So, check out the shelf life our some of your favorite cosmetics, and toss out those that have run their course. Make a list of the products you need, and head out to your favorite department store and/or pharmacy to snag them. Finally, make a note of when you purchased the new product and give it an expiration date based on its shelf life. Ready….Set….GO!

I had to learn this the hard way. I had some old blush and eyeliner that was wreaking havoc on my face and I couldn't figure out what was going on. You were right on point with this one!
