Sages Pages Bookstore - Madison, New Jersey

So....today I finally made it over to the dealership after work to get my car serviced. I was totally expecting it to be a quick trip, so I was a little disappointed when my service agent told me I would have to wait and hour and a half for my car to be finished. Booooooooo! But then I remembered there was a Starbucks within walking distance, and a really cute bookstore. I walked over to the Starbucks for a quick treat, and then headed to the bookstore.

Now I'm a big fan of the gigantic bookstores like Barnes and Nobles, but there's something really charming about a small, neighborhood bookstore....think Meg Ryan's bookstore in "You've Got Mail." I stumbled upon this bookstore a few months back when I took my car in for an oil change. Like many of you I have become a huge fan of digital books, and I haven't actually purchased a physical book in quite some time. But now I find myself drawn to bookstores because I'm hooked on purchasing cute little children's book to read to Mini Me. Well this bookstore was full of children's books. All the books you may remember reading as a child were there....I was nostalgic! Today, I wandered over to the adult section and saw a few thing that I liked, including:

Don't judge! It was on sale!

To feed my obsession with liquid nourishment...that sounded bad...

Because Mini Me will be starting on solids soon...look folks I'm trying to be a responsible parent!

And then of course there were books for Mini Me, including:

Courtesy of the Metropolitan Museum of Art...we fancy, huh!

Even though the voice of Elmo hit a rough patch, Elmo himself is still a cutie!

One of my favorite books as a child. I always checked it out at the library...memories!

So that was my haul at the bookstore today. I almost purchased more, but the nice man over at the dealership called and told me my car was ready...gotta go! I purchased my books and headed out. Shout out to the lovely folks over at Sages Pages in Madison, New Jersey!

The moral of this story: nothing really. Except I wanted you all to know just how much I enjoyed browsing this small bookstore today. The ambiance was definitely enjoyable. I'm still a fan of digital books...I don't think that will change any time soon. But it's nice to be reminded of the old school, physical feeling and smell of a book...just saying. Have a great evening!

I could spend hours in a bookstore! There's a great one where my parents live called Half Priced Books; I always have to save room in my suitcase when I visit because I bring home at least 3 or 4 new/used books from there.
